Embassy Tattoo – Washington, D.C.

The artists at Embassy Tattoo in Washington, DC have you covered. Led by owner and tattooer Fernando Gonzalez, the crew at Embassy are ready, willing and able to take on any tattoo request a customer may have.

“We’re a very friendly shop. . . we strive to be the best at what we do, and we try to accommodate everybody,” Fernando says. “Safety precautions are something we at Embassy Tattoo take tremendously serious so that our artists and guests feel comfortable and are provided with the cleanliness a tattoo shop deserves.”

“In the tattoo industry, there are no shortcuts or wiggle room,” Fernando adds. “We strive to maintain that mentality when providing our services in order to maintain our proficient and trustworthy reputation.”

The artists at Embassy Tattoo specialize in Realism, Color, Black & White, Script and much more! Cover-ups are also a specialty – Embassy Tattoo now offers Tatt2Away, a revolutionary new non-laser tattoo removal process that helps expand the cover-up options.

“In the past, we were limited with what we could do when it came to cover-ups,” Fernando says. “We’d recommend that people go and get their tattoos removed or lightened using laser treatments (because that was the only choice available) but a lot of times they’d never come back. . . I don’t even know if they ever followed through.”

“A lot of people are afraid of laser,” Fernando adds. “I’ve heard from some of those who got laser done that it was like a burn and they even blistered.”

Tatt2Away uses an innovative patented technique TEPR® (Trans Epidermal Pigment Release®) with Teprsol®, a solution which liberates the ink pigment from your skin, bringing it up and out of the body.

During your initial consult, your Tatt2Away-certified technician will sketch out a map and timeline specifically to alter, cover-up, or completely remove your art, regardless of size and existing colors. Based on your vision for your ink evolution, your technician will design a plan of treatments for removal and, if you desire, your new ink.

Tatt2Away will give the artists many more options for designing a new tattoo for the coverup. Fernando, who has been tattooing for ten years, is known for black & grey and color realism, and now he’ll be able to offer that unique style to clients as a cover-up.

“Even when I was air-brushing and painting, I’ve always liked making something look real – it’s the hardest thing to do, and it’s a great feeling when you can accomplish it. I enjoy doing color, but black & grey really has a classic, clean look,” Fernando says.

“The thing I like best about tattooing is that I can put my art on somebody and they’ve have it forever,” he adds.

It might seem a little weird to some people that a tattoo shop is now doing tattoo removal, but as Fernando points out, the two actually work together for a common goal.

“We always explain to people that the reason we’re doing it is mainly to help make better art,” he says. “It’s a great feeling when you can change somebody’s life. . . we’re helping them feel better about themselves and giving them a tattoo of which they are proud to show.”

Tatt2Away is a specific patented method with a registered trademark.  The patent covers multiple unique elements – one is the template – that contribute to its success.   If you visit a location claiming to be a certified Tatt2Away center and they fail to use the template in your procedure, leave (and please let us know).
