What Tatt2Away Is and Is Not2019-11-05T07:05:17-07:00

Tatt2Away® is a non-laser, all-natural tattoo removal method that removes all colors of ink, in few sessions and with little pain (no more than getting the original tattoo).  As the number of Tatt2Away centers grows, more consumers are hearing about it and are asking questions. Unfortunately, some of what is being said about Tatt2Away is untrue or misleading.  Yet it’s easy, once you know how, to recognize a true Tatt2Away treatment.

Removing ink from skin, regardless of the method, isn’t done by waving a magic wand.  It’s a process that impacts the body’s condition, some more permanently than others, and is either helped or hindered not only by the treatment method, but by the person who owns that body.  Regardless of the method, there are protocols that must be followed if the treatment is to be successful.

Tatt2Away’s non-laser tattoo removal method is patent-protected.  It is a very precise, systematic procedure.  Systematic precision sets Tatt2Away apart from other non-laser methods by providing consistently positive outcomes.

If you’re contemplating the best method for removing your tattoo, familiarize yourself with the specifics of how Tatt2Away works, how the results are achieved, and what to expect in your final outcome. Then when you see a picture claiming to be Tatt2Away, you’ll know if the posted picture is accurate.

METHOD OF TREATMENT

What Tatt2Away is: Precise.

Tatt2Away is a patented method for precision tattoo removal. Precision is gained from the 4” x 3” transparent, adhesive, template with precisely spaced circular treatment tiles called tegulae.  The spacing between each tile is critically important for efficient ink removal and post-treatment recovery, and to minimize any scarring potential.  The template provides for living skin between the tiles during the time the ink is lifted up and out of the skin.  A successful treatment depends on the tiles being a precise size for efficient removal and the best outcomes, and is the result of a great deal of research.  After treatment, the tattoo ink is pushed out of the skin and fully removed from the body.

The Tatt2Away method is spread out over two to five treatments per template to allow for new skin to form where the ink was removed. The precise spacing between the tiles of the template provides space for later, equally precise treatments between the tiles, after the skin returns to normal following the previous treatment. This ensures that treatments aren’t done on top of each other, over-stressing the dermis, encouraging a scar to form, or compromising the outcome.

What Tatt2Away is not: Imprecise.

Other non-laser removal techniques do not and cannot use a template, because it violates our patent.

Instead, the technician free-hands the treatment following the visible tattoo and treats without a template.  As a result, the treated areas are often too big and too close together.  Not only does this tax the body’s ability to heal the first treatment, but later treatments are compromised, because there isn’t enough room to safely treat between the previously treated areas.  Some removal techniques attempt to remove the entire tattoo at once!  The combination of these factors – most notably caused from not using a template – causes unpredictable results and frequent scarring.

Non-Tatt2Away Treatments Without Using Template

One “copycat” method did use a template which was neither clear nor had adhesive.  This not only impeded the technician from being able to see the areas under the template, but holding something in place is imprecise, unreliable, and required a third hand.  The net result was unpredictable treatments.  This product has since been removed from the market.

RESULTS OF TREATMENT

What Tatt2Away is: designed to lift out ink, leaving little evidence of the former tattoo.

All aspects of the patented Tatt2Away process – template, training, all-natural solution, overall method, and aftercare – are researched, tested, uniform, and consistent.   We control the factors to ensure the outcome is controlled.  What cannot be controlled is the end user, the person being treated.  Healing and aftercare require a strict protocol for optimal results, and technicians give clear instructions about what to do and what not to do.

A client’s choice to deviate from the advised protocol, including picking or scratching the scabs or immediately going swimming or tanning, will alter the outcome.  Tatt2Away technicians screen prospective removal clients for health, skin type, and other issues that may affect the healing outcome regardless of compliance.  On occasion, for the benefit of the person seeking removal, treatment is postponed or refused based on their life circumstances.

Tatt2Away aftercare is simple: keep it dry, leave it alone, and don’t do things that risk infection.  The scabs need to be allowed to form and drop off, taking the ink with them.  Despite this, people occasionally feel it’s wiser to ignore the aftercare instructions they’ve been given, and the result is a less-than-optimal outcome.

What Tatt2Away isn’t: a risky gamble, hoping for a good outcome

As discussed in the Method of Treatment section, imprecise application of a treatment is prone to scarring regardless of adherence to aftercare protocol.

The science of wound healing is complex, involving five stages that must happen in the proper sequence and time frame to heal optimally: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, maturation, and remodeling.  One of the most important stages in the Tatt2Away process is epidermal maturation.  Epidermis is considered mature when it resumes its normal barrier functionality, and signs of inflammation (redness) vanish.  When a treatment’s tegulae are too close together, these phases are compromised, because the balance between healthy and healing skin is upset.

The less superficial the wound, the more support the body needs in regenerating itself.  Methods that overlap treatment areas in successive treatments, or promise fast results by removing ink from large areas in just one sitting, may sound appealing, but they’re sure to fail or create scarring.

THE SOLUTION

What Tatt2Away is: all-natural, even complying with vegan standards

Teprsol® is an all-natural, vegan-compliant solution composed of chemicals naturally occurring in the human body.  It also serves three functions: it disinfects; it cauterizes, to prevent bleeding during the process; and it liberates the tattoo ink from scar tissue in the skin.  These mini-wounds heal from the outside in and the bottom up. Natural healing pushes the eschar, or ink scab, out of the skin, taking the ink with it.

What Tatt2Away isn’t: a cream or a caustic chemical peel

Harsh chemicals in treatment solutions may cause mild to severe skin damage depending on the type and amount present in the company’s solution.  Laser removal will selectively lighten colors at best, and cause severe blistering, scarring and dermal ablation at worst, because laser is a pigment-centric process.  Click here to read more in-depth on the physical limitations of laser wavelengths in tattoo removal.  Use of at-home tattoo removal creams purchased over the internet are either ineffective or take the form of a self-applied chemical peel, which can be extremely painful, risky and likely to cause irreversible damage because of their contents.

METHOD OF DELIVERY

What Tatt2Away is: pressurized for consistency, simultaneously applied

As noted in Solution, Teprsol performs three functions.  It disinfects, cauterizes, and liberates the pigment.  Our patented, pressurized delivery method ensures that all three of these functions happen consistently, uniformly, and evenly, another factor in how Tatt2Away’s treatment outcome is controlled.  Without this, different areas of the tattoo are likely to receive varying amounts of the solution, thus varying the results.  We don’t count on gravity, we deliver the solution to the ink.

Tatt2Away’s medical-grade handpieces are specifically designed for our removal method and have several patent-pending features to make the removal very precise, technician-friendly, and minimize discomfort for the removal client.

What Tatt2Away isn’t: dependent upon technician’s position and angle for fluid delivery

No other method provides pressurized delivery, otherwise it violates Tatt2Away’s patent.  This means other methods must use either a gravity-fed application or apply a solution or cream after treatment.  The lack of pressurized treatment results in inconsistent application of the fluid, reducing the body’s wound healing response to form the scab that removes the ink.  Systems that apply fluid post-treatment can compromise outcomes due to extended exposure to the fluid.  Combined with lack of pressurized treatment, these two aspects significantly reduce the treatment’s effectiveness and outcome.

Thanks to Teprsol, Tatt2Away treatments rarely bleed.  Other treatment methods often do, causing the technician to stop every few seconds to clean the area in order to see what they’re doing.

In summary, you can tell Tatt2Away treatments apart from imitators and other removal methods by looking at the consistency and evenness of the pattern, the consistent size of the tegulae, allowance of time for healing between sessions, and the end result of ink clearly removed from the skin.
